How to Build Muscle without Weights
Many people across the world, both men and women, wish to Build Muscle. However, not all of these people have access to the gym or weights. Luckily, there is an alternative. There are many ways in which you can Build Muscle without weights, and these methods can often be safer if you do not have a spotter to help you with your Weight Lifting exercises.
Building Muscle without weights is often easier, especially when on vacation etc. Also, if you have a job which requires frequent travelling, these exercises can easily be performed in hotel rooms wherever you happen to find yourself.
Some easy and convenient exercises include push-ups and sit-ups, or, if you have access to a metal bar which you can fit across the top of any doorway, pull-ups. Just make sure the bar is safely and securely fixed to the wall above the door, and can take your weight.
A resistance band, which is a large rubber tube, can be useful for many easy exercises. By pulling against the tube with one limb, for example the forearm, while holding the other end of the tube in the other hand, the pulling muscle will build muscle. With a bit of thought, you will be able to come up with many exercises using the resistance band. Legs, thighs, and arms can all be improved using this device. The bands are particularly useful for exercises like arm curls and overhead presses.
Other methods include using your own weight. When you do a pull up, for example, you are pulling your entire Body Mass upwards, which is a considerable weight. The same goes for push ups.
Don't forget that around the house you will be able to find plenty of objects that are heavy enough to give yourself a work out. Cans of food, such as baked beans, or tinned tomatoes, are ideal for this purpose. Just remember not to pick up anything too heavy or using wrong muscles, such as back muscles, since this could have the potential to cause injury.
You can also combine the two methods so that you are using both your weight and the resistance band.
You may also want to consider some form of calisthenics, which are a kind of dynamic exercise with movements like jumping, bending, swinging, twisting or kicking, using only your own weight for resistance. Squats, for example, require you to stand with your feet shoulder width apart. You should squat down as far as you can, and bring your arms forward so that they are parallel to the floor. Once you have done this, return to the standing position. Another useful exercise is the calf raise. You should stand on a platform with an edge, for example a curb, where your heels can hand. Lift your body on the balls of your feet. Then return to your standing position.
These exercises are great for the average person who wants to build their muscle, but they are not for the serious body builder, who will need access to equipment. With a little imagination you should be able to come up with all kinds of ways to build those muscles - and without spending a cent!
